How Satisfy re defined “FAST FASHION” with a toy car

Welcome back, Again I am just going with the flow of writing what I feel like writing about and hopefully there is a take away or it somehow makes sense.

For background purposes Satisfy is a brand celebrating their 10th year in 2025. Based in Paris, they have changed the way a runner looks and the options available to allow your personality to shine in a space previously kind of boring and safe. It’s thoughtful, it’s well designed and while not for everyone I feel we can appreciate how much they have impacted the culture of running. We are grateful to be amongst a small but solid list of running crews / clubs that host their monthly LSD runs. Long Slow Distance.

I was thinking about just how well the build up to their first in house shoe “The Rocker” has been. Keep in mind they know this shoe will sell out quickly. So the fact they still spend the time and resources to make this accomplishment so special speaks to the care given within the brand about the products it releases and the stories that set them apart.

Set to release in the summer they have been building the hype since October of last year ( ish ). They had a trade show booth that was focused around all the specific details, showcasing each meticulous part of the shoe and its clever names and curated materials in which it was built. It allows the viewer to visualize the shoe but nobody has actually seen it.

This continued with a series of hints with unbelievable branding and identity specific for the shoe by powerhouse @actualsource.work. With the current running boom and a new generation re-defining what that looks like we have found our way into Paris fashion week ( more on this in a future rant ). It would have been a predictable move for Satisfy to just show the shoe, fill up everyone’s cups and move along. Instead they continue this build up by combining another passion of the owner, which is RC cars.

YES. They dropped an incredibly well made toy car that shows where a lot of the inspiration for this shoe comes from. Each piece of the car is labeled and branded to be cohesive with the shoe. Maybe I’m just nerding out but this is incredible. The grip of the shoe is inspired by high end RC car tires. So they made a tire with Vibram and this will be showcased at their space within Paris Fashion Week. It’s so cool that a niche running and outdoor equipment brand can sneak this into such an event.

People are writing about the car but I felt like giving recognition as the love put into the build up of this shoe is unmatched. Just after the car there were some photos from popular running blogs like Runners Highest sharing some upcoming apparel pieces that offer a full view of the shoe, but as an illustration.

I love that the sport of running is in this current zone of experimentation and finding a new identity. While it is an individual sport it’s so great to see people coming together to support one another in their goals. To see brands invest time and creative energy into a project like this is really special. I think the lesson here is to appreciate and take our time with the process of whatever it is we are working on.
